OUR ROOTS
OUR HISTORY, OUR PHILOSOPHY

Hair Cult opened in 1988, when owner Laurie Michelson envisioned a space to experience beauty and wellness with a hip and positive vibe. The salon was a pioneer in the area of wellness, beauty and environmental consciousness by becoming the first Aveda Concept Salon to debut in Hoboken in 1989. Hair Cult expanded its services in 1999 to include Marma Day Spa, an Aveda Concept Spa offering signature massages, facials and body wraps.

Dedicating over 25 years to passionately connecting beauty, wellness and deep concern and care for the environment—the team at Hair Cult strive to deliver impeccable service to guests. The highly diverse and multifaceted professionals are experienced beauty experts, with multiple certifications, and a love for continual learning that keep them on-trend, while providing excellent service with great skill.

Serving men, women, and children, Hair Cult specializes in precision cuts, multidimensional color, human hair extensions, synthetic hair extensions, corrective color and exceptional customer service.
